In carrying its mandate as the Project Owner and Asset Developer of the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Project and the RTS Link Project, Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) carries the responsibility not only towards the development and maintenance of the asset, but to also promote the use of public transport and to educate the mass on the merits of public infrastructure.
In supporting this vision, the MRT Putrajaya Line Systems Department had recently welcomed four students and three educators from Sekolah Menengah Sains Tuanku Aishah Rohani (SGS), Negeri Sembilan on 19 October 2022 for a study visit to learn more about the project, in relation to industrial revolution 4.0 technology, in order to prepare for their Southern Zone Boarding School Career and Education Carnival Program.
They were received by MRT Corp Head of Integration and Systems Ir. Shahir Azhan Mohamed Hamzah, together with Encik Amir Ezareen Azhan Effendy and Encik Mohamad Sabri Jusoh at MRT Corp Project Office at Wisma MRT, Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur. Before they begin, an ice-breaking session was conducted among the seven guests and MRT Corp representatives, where the students expressed their aspirations in regards to their future career.
The MRT Corp team gave a brief overview on role of MRT Corp within the defined objective of the visit. They later gave a presentation on the Putrajaya Line System – Integrated Control Supervisory System (ICSS) and other interface systems including the overall system architecture information.
A question-and-answer session followed, where the students displayed their curiousity over the project and asked a range of questions in order to have a better understanding on how the railway system works.
The entourage were later brought to visit the Semantan MRT Station and on a train ride to KL Sentral, where the visit ended. From the visit, the students were able to achieve their objective of having a career exposure towards the rail industry.
