The Korean Republic Vice Minister for Transport, Mr. Hwang Seong Kyu visited the MRT Putrajaya (PY) Line on 5 April 2022 for a better understanding of the construction and planning of the train system.
Mr Hwang led a delegation comprising representatives from the Korean Republic Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Korea Expressway Corporation and ITS Korea for a visit to the Sri Damansara Sentral MRT and Kampung Batu MRT stations. He also got an opportunity to ride the train between the two stations.
Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd PY Line Project Director, Dato’ Amiruddin Ma’aris hosted the visitors, who were accompanied by by Encik Muhammad Ashraf Sukadi, Deputy Undersecretary of the Land Division of the Malaysian Ministry of Transport and Tuan Syed Mohamad Azani Syed Mohamad, Rail Planning Division Principal Assistant Director of the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD).
Dato’ Amiruddin gave a briefing on the Project, providing the latest updates as well as details about the Sri Damansara Sentral MRT Station. He also brought the visitors on a tour of the station, showing the facilities available where Mr Hwang took the opportunity to test out the Ticket Vending Machine.
HAP Consortium, the Work Package Contractor for Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Testing & Commissioning Of Electric Trains And Depot Equipment also presented a briefing on electric trains to the Korean delegates.
The delegates then took a ride to Kampung Batu MRT Station where they stopped for a photography session at the panoramic view of the city centre. Dato’ Amiruddin continued the visit by leading a walkabout of the station.
The visit ended after a memento presentation by Dato’ Amiruddin to Mr Hwang as a token of appreciation for the visit.
