The third session of MRT Project Progress General Briefing for 2019 was held by Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) at the Bandar Malaysia North MRT Information Centre on 25 April 2019.
It saw the involvement from Members of Parliament (MP), State Assemblypersons and local authorities in areas from Sungai Besi to Putrajaya.
Among the attendees were representatives from the offices of YB Gobind Singh Deo (MP for Puchong), YB Mohamed Hanipa Maidin (MP for Sepang) and YB Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud (ADUN for Seri Serdang), as well as representatives from Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya and Majlis Perbandaran Sepang.
Similar to the previous two sessions, the briefing was to inform the attendees on the Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line construction progress and updates with focus on V205 to V210 work packages.
The presentation on the SSP Line construction progress was given by En Mohar Zainal Abidin, MMC-Gamuda KVMRT (PDP SSP) Sdn Bhd Public Relations and Stakeholder Management Senior Manager. The attendees were informed that the overall progress for the SSP Line as of March 2019 was at 47% completion.
En Zamri Shaari, PDP’s Head of Approval Management then presented information on the cost rationalisation exercise for the SSP Line. He explained the measures taken by PDP to reduce the construction costs while maintaining the overall quality of service. Several questions were posed by the attendees relating to this such as the facilities that would be deferred and status of land that have been acquired previously for SSP Line.
The briefing session ended with light refreshments for the attendees.
