OFFICIALS from Persatuan Orang Kota Bharu (POKB) visited the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Project and took a ride on the MRT Sungai Buloh – Kajang (SBK) Line on 25 July 2017.
The six officials including the President of POKB Dato’ Hj Sheikh Ahmad Dusuki Sheikh Mohamad and Chairman of Advisory Council Member Datuk Abdul Malik Abdullah started the visit at MRT Station Kajang.
The objective behind the visit was to get first-hand experience of the features that the MRT provides for the disabled (OKU) community around the stations as well as in the train itself.
A committee member of POKB Encik Zakri Kamaruddin who is an OKU himself tested out the accessibility.
POKB has created an OKU Unit within its organization to uplift the importance of the disabilities’ role in the system, community and environment.
Their vision and mission is to integrate the social platform in empowering disabled and non-disabled to support the formation of an inclusive country.
On the train, the officials also had the chance to get insights on the interesting traits along the SBK Line and as well as the MRT trains itself.
Once arrived at the MRT Station Sungai Buloh, the officials took a group photograph to commemorate the day to end the visit.
