OFFICIALS from Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPj) visited the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (KVMRT) Project Centralised Labour Quarters (CLQ) in Sungai Buloh on 9 June 2017 to gain further knowledge on managing temporary accommodation for foreign workers.
The nine officials visited the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line Package V201 CLQ that is managed by Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd.
MRT Corp CLQ, Health, Security, Safety and Environment Head Encik Mohd Yusof Kasiron; Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd CLQ Manager Lt Col (Rtd) Dianand GA Sadris and MMC-Gamuda KVMRT (PDP SSP) Sdn Bhd CLQ Manager (Northern Section) Mr Putmanathan Supermaniam welcomed the delegation to the facility.
Yusof gave an overview of the facility and highlighted that a total of 230 foreign construction workers were currently being housed in the V201 CLQ. There was no cost to the individuals staying there as it was a facility that the MRT Project provided.
He also mentioned that the Malaysian Standard of Temporary Construction Site Workers Amenities and Accommodation (MS 2593: 2015) was adapted from the KVMRT Project’s CLQ model which was used for the construction of the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line.
A tour of the CLQ was then given to the PPj officials who were impressed with the facilities available there.
