MASS Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) participated in the SME BANK XCESS 2016: “Dynamic Financing for Business Expansion” held at Matrade Exhibition & Convention Centre on 8 March 2016.
The purpose of this workshop was to introduce new financing schemes offered by SME Bank to projects of Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs), and those catering to Rural Communities, Micro Enterprises and Previously Disadvantaged Individuals (PDIs).
SME Bank is responsible to provide financing as well as financial and business advisory services to Malaysian SMEs residing within predefined categories which have been framed within the SME classification guidelines of the National SME Development Council.
MRT Corp participated in the workshop being part of a government agency that supports financial benefits offered by government owned financial institutions.
The workshop began with opening remarks by former Member of Parliament, Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz.
MRT Corp set up a consultation session during the event as a way to disseminate information to the public regarding the MRT Project as a support to Rancangan Malaysia Ke 11 (RMK 11).
MRT Corp Commercial & Land Management Director, Dato’ Haris Fadzilah Hassan, gave a presentation on the procurement strategy for the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line.
Haris also provided information on the value of contracts that are allocated to Bumiputera contractors which will be made available by MRT Corp via the SSP Line.
