THE Minister of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz visited the Muzium Negara station on 10 October 2016.
The main purpose of his visit was to gain further knowledge about the development of the MRT Project.
Upon his arrival, Nazri was greeted by Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Shahril Mokhtar.
Also present during this visit were MRT Corp Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) Line Project Director Mr Marcus Karakashian, MRT Corp Strategic Communications & Stakeholder Relations Director Dato’ Najmuddin Abdullah and MMC Gamuda KVMRT (T) Sdn Bhd Project Director Mr Satpal Bhogal.
After a short safety briefing was given, Marcus led Nazri to a walkabout of the Muzium Negara station where he explained the features of the station.
One of the items that he mentioned is that there will be a lift from the concourse level of the station that goes all the way up to the front of the national museum.
Users of the MRT will also be able to walk to KL Sentral via an underground walkway that links the MRT station and KL Sentral.
Nazri was delighted with the progress of the project and sees it as potential game-changer in the public transport development.
