Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) hosted delegates from the International Union of Railways (UIC) to the MRT Train Assembly Plant in Rasa on 20 November 2015.
The delegates from the day included guests from France, Japan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Australia.
Before the visit commenced, the delegates were given an introduction about the MRT project by MRT Corp Electrical and Mechanical Systems Director Mr Tarenjit Singh Khella at Sunway Putra Hotel.
MRT Corp Health Safety, Security & Environment Head Mr Yusof Kasiron then gave a short briefing about safety enhancement measures that are practiced by MRT Corp.
Upon the completion of the speeches, the delegates were then ushered to the bus to depart to Rasa. They were accompanied by representatives from MRT Corp’s Strategic Communications and Public Relations division.
As the delegates arrived at the MRT Train Assembly Plant, Rasa, they were given a brief talk about SMH Rail (the company responsible for assembling MRT trains) by Mr Eric Byrne, SMH Rail General Manager-Locomotive Division.
After the talk, Mr Bryne together with Mr Tarenjit Singh Khella and MRT Corp Assistant General Manager, Electric Train and Depot Equipment & Maintenance Vehicle, Mr Arun Govindasamy, led the delegates to a tour of the MRT Train Assembly Plant.
The visit ended with lunch being served to the guests before embarking on the journey back to Sunway Putra Hotel.
