TWENTY-TWO children had a fun and educating time at the MRT Information Centre (MIC) Seri Kembangan recently.
These smart and diligent boys and girls were students of Al Baghdadi Playtime Centre (APC), which was the fortunate school picked for the fourth edition of Hari Ceria Bersama MRT Corp held on 4 May 2018.
Organised by Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) and its Project Delivery Partner (PDP) MMC-Gamuda KVMRT Sdn Bhd, Hari Ceria is designed to raise awareness and gain support from the surrounding community along the alignment of the MRT Project, especially the teachers and parents.
The school, APC is a preschool programme based on Al-Quran teachings designed for the current Islamic education, located in the Seri Kembangan vicinity.
The twenty-two nine-year olds were accompanied by four of their teachers and started the event by participating in a colouring contest.
They were given forty-five minutes to complete the task by colouring a train photo depicting the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya Line for which the best three entries will be selected as winners.
A jigsaw puzzle contest ensued where the children were divided into groups of three.
They were assigned to complete a puzzle that illustrate a MRT station.

Jigsaw Puzzle Contest
1st – Muhammad Hariz Ikhwan Bin Ya’akob, Muhammad Syahir Rahimie Bin Shahrudin and Umar Adeeb Bin Azaruddin
2nd – Aufa Safiyyah Binti Lokmin Al – Hafiz, Nur Khairunnisa Khaliqa Binti Abdul Khaliq, Nur Adlina Wafiyyah Binti Saiful Azrin and Rana Syakira Utami Binti Mulya Andhika Putra
3rd – Luqmanul Hakim Bin Rozai, Muhd Shafiy Naufal Bin Shahrul Hazman and Muhammad Ziaulhaq Bin Abdul Mubin
For their efforts, the children won educational toys worth between RM60 to RM100, certificates, RM50 to RM80 worth of hampers as well as getting back their artwork, in IKEA frames.
Mas Liyana Roslan, a teacher with APC said, “In future, I would like to welcome MRT Corp to engage with us for more activities involving the children. The objective is to nurture a better understanding and awareness of the children on public infrastructure such as MRT.”
