DELEGATES from the Department of Highways, Thailand together with the Malaysian Public Works Department (JKR Malaysia), visited the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Information Centre, Seri Kembangan on 31 October 2018.
The 26-strong delegation was led by the Department of Highways, Thailand Deputy Director-General for Engineering Mr Apichart Juntarasup and JKR Malaysia Road Facilities Maintenance Senior Civil Engineer Encik Shamsulakmar Abdul Munir.
Information about the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line was given by Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Relations General Manager Mr Leong Shen-Li who was accompanied by MMC Gamuda KMVRT (PDP SSP) Sdn Bhd (MMC Gamuda) Engineering and Design Senior Manager Dr Tey Chun Yean.
Leong gave an overall explanation about the Project structure, in addition to information about the MRT SSP Line.
He also went to explain about how the Project is being built next to existing highways.
With this, MRT Corp together with the Project Delivery Partner for the Project, MMC Gamuda and the Work Package Contractors has to ensure that minimal traffic disruption is caused during the construction phase of the Project.
In fact, to this point, the Project has successfully avoided any major road closures. Engaging in social media platforms in addition to having media releases and announcements has helped the general public to be aware of any road diversions caused due to the Project. This has helped mitigate the number of complaints.
The visit ended with lunch being served to the delegates.
