AUDITORS from the Construction Audit Department (SAO), Afghanistan, paid a visit to the MRT Information Centre in Seri Kembangan on 23 November 2018.
The visit was part of their Performance Audit on Construction Works workshop, which saw 10 participants of the workshop learning more about the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Project.
Present at the visit was Mr Taranjit (Tom) Singh Khella, MRT Corp Head of Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line Defect Liability Period, who gave a presentation on the MRT Project.
The presentation touched on the various aspects of the Project, from the project funding and structure, to the elevated and underground sections, and station designs, among other topics.
The participants expressed that they had gained quite an insight into the rail industry in Malaysia, and commented that they were impressed with the scale of the MRT Project, hoping that a project of this size would someday materialize in Afghanistan.
One of the participants had also shared on how the rail industry in Afghanistan has yet to reach its full potential, and it is their fervent hope that Kabul would someday be at par with what Kuala Lumpur has to offer.
They were later brought around the MRT Information Centre to inspect the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line alignment using the interactive Hawkeye application.
The visit ended with a token of appreciation that was presented by Mr Tom Khella to a representative from SAO.
