Prior to the commencement of construction for the MRT Putrajaya Line Project, the HKL at-grade parking and the Works Department office were located within the HKL Crossover right-of-way (ROW), and were temporarily acquired during the construction stage to make way for MRT works.
Upon completion of construction works for the HKL Crossover, the two new buildings were constructed by the Putrajaya Line Underground Works Contractor MMC Gamuda KVMRT (T) Sdn Bhd (MGKT) based on HKL’s needs and requirements.
Construction works for the Vehicle Unit Block commenced in May 2018, with Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) received on 17 November 2021, while construction of the Public Health Unit Block began in January 2018 with CCC received on 7 February 2022.
Several site inspections and checking of handover documentation were carried out by the Ministry of Health, HKL, MGKT and MRT Corp representatives. Following the inspection, all the findings and comments from the site inspection and handover documentation were addressed accordingly and were accepted by HKL.
The six-storied Vehicle Unit Block provides 649 carpark bays and 59 motorcycle bays, including ambulance transport units and truck maintenance on the ground floor. 6 carpark levels have been allocated for HKL staff for their convenience. Whereas the Public Health Unit Block houses meeting rooms, discussion rooms, outpatient areas and many other facilities in its two floors.
The two replacement blocks were built and fitted for HKL as part of MRT Corp’s commitment in advancing and improving the livelihood of the rakyat.
