The Rapid Transit System Link Project welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) to several of the project sites in Johor Bahru on 29 March 2022.
Representing MOT was the Ministry’s Land Division Deputy Under Secretary Encik Muhammad Asraf Sukadi while Rail Planning Division Principal Assistant Director Encik Syed Mohamad Azani Bin Syed Mohamad represented APAD.
The delegation was received by RTS Link Civil and Construction Head Encik Asnan Ayob . Also present were Planning and Control Head Encik Tan Mun Kit, Authority Liaison and Stakeholder Relations Head Encik Redzelan Mohamad and representatives of Adil Permata Sdn Bhd, the project contractor.
The visit began with a technical and safety briefing by Asnan, who also briefed the delegation on the current construction progress. The visit is part of requirements set as a condition for the approval of the Project’s Railway Scheme.
The delegation then proceeded to visit the Maintenance Depot site at Wadihana, followed by the Bukit Chagar Station and Immigration, Customs and Quarantine (ICQ) Complex site, and the alignment route along Jalan Tun Abdul Razak where they had the opportunity to observe Preliminary Test Pile (PTP) works for viaduct. The final site visited was at the coastline at Stulang where the marine viaduct will be built across the Straits of Johor to Singapore.
The RTS Link project is a railway shuttle link approximately 4km in length between Johor Bahru, Malaysia and Singapore with a capacity of 10,000 passengers per hour per direction.
