TWENTY-SEVEN investors, analysts and fund managers from various financial institutions visited Bandar Malaysia North MRT Information Centre on 21 March 2019. The visit was arranged by Affin Hwang Investment, a leading investment banking, securities, asset management and trustee group in Malaysia, as part of Bursa Malaysia’s Invest Malaysia 2019 programme. The delegates were led by Affin Hwang Investment Senior Analyst, Loong Chee Wei.

The session started with Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Relations General Manager Leong Shen Li welcoming the delegates followed by a briefing on the MRT Project.

The 2-hour visit, attended by 15 locally and internationally-based investment organizations, allowed the participants to understand the processes involved in an infra construction projects. The lack of reserved land for urban railways in Malaysia was also one of the topics discussed with the delegates. Leong also talked about the impending change to the project structure from a project delivery partner to turnkey contract structure.

The briefing session concluded with the delegates viewing the replica of the Tunnel Boring Machine as Leong went on to explain its functions and features, before the session ended with light refreshments.
