ON 5 September 2018, the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Project received visitors from the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme that was hosted by the National Institute of Land and Survey (INSTUN), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
These visitors which included those from 9 foreign countries such as Iran, Azerbajian, Mauritius and Zimbabwe, were participants of the programme titled ‘Roles & Contributions of Land Administration in Malaysian Development’ that is being held from 26 August 2018 – 8 September 2018.
They were brought to the MRT Information Centre (MIC) Seri Kembangan where they were given an overview of the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line by Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Relations General Manager Mr Leong Shen-Li.
Here, he also explained the roles that MRT Corp plays in the project and how the project is being supported by a project delivery partner in MMC-Gamuda KVMRT (PDP SSP) Sdn Bhd.
MRT Corp Commercial and Land Management Assistant General Manager Encik Azhar Abdul Aziz then provided information about land management in the Project.
Steps taken and ways in acquiring land for the MRT Project was amongst the topics discussed. Coordination between MRT Corp, land owners and relevant authorities need to be in place before proceeding with acquiring a piece of land for the construction of the Project.
The visit to MIC ended with lunch being served to the attendees.
