FORTY-FIVE students from SMK St Gabriel visited the Mass Rapid Transit Information Centre (MIC) on 28 August 2018 to garner knowledge about the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line and potential career opportunities with Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp).
The school is located near the Maluri MRT Station, which is part of the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) Line.
Led by Puan Nor Aziati, these form five students of Science and Arts streams were brought to the MIC Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah.
Here, they managed to utilise the facilities of the MIC such as the ‘hawkeye’ that displayed the overall alignment of the MRT SSP Line.
MRT Corp Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Relations Junior Executive Encik Rizal Redzuan and MMC-Gamuda KVMRT (PDP SSP) Sdn Bhd Public Relations and Stakeholder Management Executive Puan Ijazatul Shima welcomed the students to the MIC.
Rizal then provided an overview of the KVMRT Project. In addition to providing information about the MRT SSP Line, the previous successes of the MRT SBK Line were also mentioned.
Besides that, potential career opportunities that the MRT Project offers was also shared by Rizal. He explained the different organisations that work together to ensure that the MRT Project is delivered on time and within cost.
The visit ended with a short quiz with prizes up for grabs for the students.
Lunch was then served to all attendees.
