Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) and MMC Gamuda KVMRT (T) Sdn Bhd (MMC Gamuda), the underground work package contractor for the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line, organised an Open Day at the Merdeka MRT Station site on 24 January 2014.
The Open Day was aimed at various stakeholders from along Jalan Hang Jebat, where the future Merdeka MRT Station will be located. The construction works have inevitably caused some inconvenience and both MRT Corp and MMC Gamuda believe that these stakeholders should be kept informed on the progress of the project and construction activities taking place at the site.
During the session, stakeholders were not only briefed on the work progress but also on what to expect in the next six months. Stakeholders also took the opportunity to ask questions and raise their concerns, especially those related to safety and security and traffic management.
Refreshments were served and the visitors were shown around the site and the work being carried out.
The Merdeka Station is one of seven underground stations of the Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT Line. It is located next to the Stadium Merdeka.
