ELEVEN participants of the Economic Planning And Management Course (EPM) which is run by the Malaysian National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) visited the MRT Project Information Centre in Damansara Utama on 9 September 2015.
The participants were from Pakistan, Maldives, Samoa, Sudan, Uzbekistan and Malaysia, and led by INTAN’s Senior Training Consultant for the EPM Encik Ridzuan Kushairi Mohd Ramli.
The EPM is a three-week course and part of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) which is one of the Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management (CAPAM) activities.
During the visit, Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) Deputy General Manager in Communications and Public Relations Mr Leong Shen-Li briefed the visitors about the Klang Valley MRT project.
He covered topics such as the importance of the MRT to the Klang Valley and Malaysia, and the project progress.
After Leong’s presentation, Puan Juhaida Ismail from DanaInfra Nasional Berhad briefed the delegates on the financing structure of the project.
She highlighted that the Project was being funded through bonds issued by DanaInfra. She also fielded many questions from the participants on various features of the funding model and details of the bonds.
The visit by the foreign and local delegates ended with a visit to the various exhibits in the information centre, and morning tea.
