Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) took the opportunity to highlight the latest technology in Intelligent Transport System (ITS) during an exhibition of the Klang Valley MRT (KVMRT) Project at the ITS Seminar and Exhibition 2017.
Organised by the Intelligent Transport System Association of Malaysia, the exhibition was held at Connexion@Nexus in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur from 21 February 2017 to 23 February 2017.
The exhibition showcase the KVMRT Project’s ITS application in the fully automatic train operations system.
ITS application in the MRT system ranged from automatic train supervision to automatic fare collection to real time train arrival information to commuters.
The KVMRT project booth attracted many visitors, including Works Minister Dato’ Sri Fadillah Yusof, his deputy Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin, and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa, who is also MRT Corp Chairman.
Ali delivered the keynote address during the seminar where he highlighted Malaysia’s plan for ITS, including in the public transport sector.
Participants of the seminar also got an opportunity to visit the operations control centre for the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line on one of the seminar’s technical visits.
