A GROUP of 40 delegates from Jabatan Kerja Raya Malaysia (JKR) went for a technical visit on the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system on the 23rd March 2017.
The tour was aimed at allowing the delegates to gain knowledge from the implementation of the Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) Line.
The tour began at the Pusat Bandar Damansara MRT Station, where Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) Line Project Director Mr. Marcus Karakashian, gave a short briefing to the delegation. They then boarded a train to the Kwasa Damansara MRT Station, where they transferred onto a feeder bus towards Operations Control Centre (OCC). During the journey, he talked about the SBK Line and how it evolves to how it is today.
Upon the arrival at the OCC, the delegation was brought to the presentation room to gain further understanding of the operations of the SBK Line from MRT SBK Line Head of Rail Operations Azmi Mohd Zin. The delegation, from JKR’s Cawangan Kerja Bangunan Am 1, were very eager to learn from the experience and challenges that MRT Corp and operator RapidRail Sdn Bhd had to go through with the SBK Line.
The delegation was also briefed on how the automatic train operations system worked as well as the safety features of the system.
Right after light refreshments, the delegations took the train back to the Pusat Bandar Damansara MRT Station.
