A group of six officials from Ghana led by Minister of Monitoring and Evaluation Hon. Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei took a ride on the MRT on 9 May 2017.
They were greeted by the Deputy General Manager Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Relations Mr Leong Shen-Li at the Pusat Bandar Damansara MRT Station.
The officials were handed with tokens before Leong demonstrated to them how to use their token at the automatic fare gates. Before heading up to the escalator, Leong introduced the entire route of the Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line which consists of 31 stations including seven underground stations.
While waiting for the arrival of the train, Leong delivered a short briefing of the project to the officials at the platform of the station. Afterwards, they boarded the train to Bandar Utama MRT Station. The roles and distinction between MRT Corp and Rapid Rail were also pointed out along the journey.
Upon the arrival at Bandar Utama Station, Leong brought them for a walkabout at the station. He showed the officials the future build-up linkway to the One Utama shopping mall which is expected to be ready in July. Passengers can be connected through a common concourse to the shopping mall with ease.
After the walkabout, the officials were then advised to head back to the Pusat Bandar Damansara MRT Station. On board, Leong thanked the officials for their time visiting the MRT Project. The visit ended once they arrived at the Pusat Bandar Damansara Station. The officials were invited to visit MRT by Pemandu Associates Sdn Bhd.
