A VISIT to the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Project was made by the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department YB Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri and Suruhanjaya Pengangkutan Awam Darat (SPAD) Chief Executive Officer Encik Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah on the morning of 16 June 2017.

The delegation was also joined by several members from Prasarana Malaysia and Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB).

They were led by Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) Line Project Director Mr Marcus Karakashian and SBK Line Underground Stations and Tunnel Director Mr Keith Allenby.

The visit began from the SPAD Headquarters located in Platinum Sentral.

The delegates then walked over to the Muzium Negara MRT Station via the pedestrian linkway that connects the station from Platinum Sentral. This is one of the linkways that has been built at the station.

Upon reaching the Muzium Negara MRT Station, they proceeded with boarding the train and disembarked at Merdeka MRT Station. Here, the delegates were given a tour of the station.

Nancy was duly impressed with the Rukunegara (National Principles) feature on the walls at the concourse level of the station.

A trip to the Kajang MRT Station was also made where Marcus showed the seamless integration between the MRT and KTM services to Nancy and Azharuddin.

The visit ended with a train ride back to Muzium Negara MRT Station.
