THE Klang Valley MRT Project hosted the Vice President of the Republic of Botswana, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi at the Cochrane MRT Station Site on Wednesday, 8 April 2015. The visit was one of Masisi’s activities during his working visit to Malaysia between 7 April 2015 and 11 April 2015.
The Botswana delegation included the Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration Mr Eric Molale and other officials. Also present on that day was Pemandu Director for Urban Public Transport NKRA and Greater Kuala Lumpur/Klang Valley NKEA Encik Azharuddin Mat Sah.
The delegation arrived at the construction site at 2.30pm and was welcomed by MRT Corp Director of Strategic Communications and Public Relations Encik Mahmood Abdul Razak, who also gave brief introduction of the Project.
The delegation was brought to the viewing deck at the Cochrane station which overlooks the Cochrane Station that is currently being built. The station is 33 metres deep.
They were then led into the station. MRT Corp Director of the Underground Stations Mr Keith Allenby gave a detailed explanation on the construction progress of the station and the works that were currently taking place at the site.
Masisi was impressed with MRT project and keen to learn from Malaysia’s transformation programme.
The visit ended with both parties exchanging mementos. Photographs were also taken to commemorate the visit.
