A TOTAL of seven subcontracts for the construction of MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line worth RM4,843,355.17 were awarded to G1-G4 Bumiputera contractors during the 26th SSP Line Bumiputera Ballot Exercise.
The balloting event was held at the Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd Corporate Headquarters in Bukit Damansara on 25 February 2020, and was attended by representatives from Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB), Persatuan Kontraktor Bumiputera Kelas F Malaysia (PERKOBF), MMC Gamuda KVMRT (PDP) Sdn Bhd and Bahagian Pembangunan Kontraktor dan Usahawan (BPKU) Kementerian Kerja Raya.
Two CIDB Grade G1 subcontracts under the V208 Work Packages were awarded; traffic signages works worth RM155,474.00 to Atiq Technology and Resources and roadworks and road furniture works worth RM81,510.87 to Tasriya Enterprise.
Only one CIDB Grade G2 subcontract was awarded during this session. The subcontract under the V206 Work Package for walkway pavement works worth RM260,816.82 was awarded to DYIM Enterprise.
Two CIDB Grade G3 subcontracts under the V208 and V206 Work Packages were also awarded. Subcontract under the V208 Work Package for galvanised steel and iron guardrails works worth RM827,461.80 was awarded to Fias Enterprise while walkway pavement works under the V206 Work Package worth RM507,505.68 to Syarikat Pembinaan Rashid.
As for CIDB Grade G4 subcontracts, two subcontracts under the V209 Work Package were awarded. Street lighting works worth RM1,629,428.00 was awarded to Azrin Ideal Enterprise. Another subcontract, for traffic light system works worth RM1,281,158.00, was awarded to Ero Builders Enterprise.
As of 31 January 2020, a total of 163 out of 185 work packages with a total value of RM115.8 million from RM263.2 million have been awarded to Bumiputera contractors.
