Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) participated in the National Supply Chain Conference on Rail Projects and Career Fair 2018 which was held at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) on the 11 – 12 April 2018.
The two-day conference and career fair was organised by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA).
The event was held to showcase the National Rail Industry roadmap and highlighting the socio-economic development from the rail industry as well as the benefits to local companies and the locals.
Second Minister for International Trade and Industry Dato’ Sri Ong Ka Chuan launched the event.
MRT Corp’s participation in the event involved delivering a presentation of the MRT Project’s experience in enhancing the national supply chain as well as the opening of a booth at the event’s career fair.
In his presentation, Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Relations Director Dato’ Najmuddin Abdullah shared with the audience how the local rail supply chain was developed through the Klang Valley MRT Project with the collaboration of its foreign Work Package Contractors (WPC).
He said the usage of local content and products in the supply chain development was maximised through the Industrial Collaboration Programme (ICP) for the MRT Project which was attained through manufacturing, assembling and sub-contracting processes to Malaysian players.
As for the Career Fair, MRT Corp was one of many companies which provided information about their company’s function and projects. Those who were interested in joining MRT Corp were encouraged to go into MRT Corp’s website where openings were listed.
