Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) has won the main prize of the Prime Minister’s Innovation Award 2017 (AIPM) based on its role as the “Ideal Project Management in Governance Iconography”.
MRT Corp Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Shahril Mokhtar together with Director Commercial and Land Management Dato’ Haris Fadzilah Hassan and Director Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Relations Dato’ Najmuddin Abdullah accepted the award on behalf of MRT Corp.
The award which comprises of RM1 million, trophy and certificate was received from Malaysia Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak during the AIPM 2017 event held on 7 November 2017 at Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
AIPM is organised by the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) since 2009 and is the highest award for the private sector in recognising high impact innovation production that contribute towards the importance of the people and nation.
This prestigious recognition is one of the Government’s initiative to continue the productivity acceleration towards achieving the vision of a high income advanced nation and overall national transformation.
The governance of AIPM’s assessment is done through two levels of committee which are the Nomination Committee and the Selection Committee with the members being from high ranking government officials and leading individuals across the private academic sector and non-governmental organisations (NGO).
The winners’ assessment were based on 4 main criteria; creativity, effectiveness, relevance and significant as well as taking account the four principles of the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) which are high positive impact, minimum cost, rapid execution and sustainable change.
A total of 111 entries were received for the AIPM 2017 edition where 9 nominees were shortlisted for the Selection Committee of which five finalists were decided upon.
