Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) held an iftar(breaking of fast) with members of the media at Hilton Kuala Lumpur in KL Sentral, Kuala Lumpur, on 29 May 2017.
Over 100 members of the broadcast and print media attended theiftar.
Besides the act of breaking of fast together in the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, this annual event was also a way for MRT Corp to get to know the media better and to strengthen its relationship with them.
The event also served as a token of gratitude to members for their coverage on the Klang Valley MRT Project, which has helped inform and educate the public on the project.
Before the Maghrib azan which marked the breaking of fast for the day, MRT Corp Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Relations Director Dato’ Najmuddin Abdullah welcomed the guests.
Besides reiterating the importance of the good relationship with the media, he also provided updates on the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line which is on track to begin full operations by July 2017, and the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya Line.
