Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Shahril Mokhtar on Wednesday, 11 February 2015, led the media on a tour of the Cochrane and Tun Razak Exchange Stations as well as a walk-through of the tunnel between the two stations.
Together with Shahril were MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line Project Director Mr Marcus Karakashian, who provided details to media members on the construction of the station and tunnel throughout the tour, and other members of the MRT Corp Senior Management Team.
This was Shahril’s first engagement with the media since he become CEO in January this year. Around 40 members of the media turned up for the tour.
A media conference was held at the end of the tour at the TRX Station site office. Besides Shahril, the panel included Karakashian and MMC Gamuda KVMRT (T) Sdn Bhd Project Director Mr Satpal S. Bhogal.
“I am pleased with the progress achieved thus far. As we move our focus towards the Systems portion of construction, I will ensure that the good progress continues,” he told the media.
Progress for Underground Works, which included the construction of seven underground stations and tunnels for the 9.5km underground section of the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line, was at 73.13%. Progress for the Elevated section, meanwhile, stood at 49.2%.
The overall progress of the project as at 31 January 2015 was 59.5%.
