A GROUP of delegates from the Bank of China, Shanghai branch visited the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Project on 17 April 2017. They were brought to the MRT Information Centre Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah and the 10 delegates were led by Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) Foreign Investment Coordination Division Assistant Director Ms Teo Cho Cheng.
Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Relations Deputy General Manager, Mr Leong Shen-Li introduced the delegates to the MRT Project.
Here, he explained the importance of the MRT Project in the Klang Valley. The ever-increasing population in the Klang Valley and the number of cars in the area is exorbitant and needs to be reduced. Rail projects such as the MRT Project had been established for this to be achieved.
Besides providing information about the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) Line and MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line, Leong added that the proposed MRT Circle Line will potentially be similar to the concept that is already in place in Beijing, China.
In addition to that, explanation about the MRT Project implementing automatic platform gates at the platform, which is unlike any other rail projects in Malaysia, duly impressed the delegates.
The visit ended with light refreshments being served to them.
