FAQs About Our Space – Events, Activation, Promotional Activity and Kiosks

How do I book or check on the availability and price of the spaces in the MRT Stations?
How do I book spaces in MRT Stations for Filming and Photography Activity?
Do you allow sampling and distribution activities in the station? What is the rate or license fee to organize the activity?

Yes, we allow sampling and distribution activities in the MRT Station. However, client is required to submit the proposed activity for us to propose the suitable location.

The rate will be RM 100 per promoter per day.

Do you allow chartering of the train and bus for events or filming / photography activity?

For chartering of train, the rates are as follows.

    1. Charter of one (1) train coach / car (full loop) – RM 10,000
    2. Charter of one (1) full train coach / car (full loop) – RM 20,000

Chartering of MRT Feeder Bus, the rates are as follows:

    1. 4 Hours: RM 1,200
    2. Between 4 – 8 Hours: RM 2,400
    3. Between 15 – 24 Hours: RM 3,200
How much is the Security Deposit for booking the spaces?
  1. For activation and promotional spaces will be 50% Security Deposit will be included on top of the total licence fee.
  2. For kiosks will be one (1) month rental as security deposit to be paid with the first month rental.
  3. The Security deposit will be returned after the event or activity is completed should there be no defect to the space booked. MRT Corp will issue a checklist, for the client to ensure there is no defect to the space booked before and after the activity, by inspecting the space with the station manager / station controller and MRT Corp representatives, and submit the signed checklist to MRT Corp for MRT Corp to process the return of security deposit.
What are the rules and procedures in applying for the activation and promotional space as well as kiosks in the MRT Stations?

The procedures are as follows:

    1. The spaces available are based on first come first serve basis.
    2. MRT Corp will issue Application Form and Method of Statement Form to the Applicant.
    3. The Applicant is required to submit the application minimum three (3) weeks prior to the commencement of the proposed event / activity.
    4. License fees are to be made in advance before the commencement of the event.
    5. 50% Security Deposit will be included on top of the total licence fee for activation and promotional activity and one (1) month rental as security deposit for kiosks. The Security deposit will be returned after the event or activity is completed should there be no defect to the space booked. MRT Corp will issue a checklist to be signed by both parties for MRT Corp to return the security deposit.
    6. The Applicant is required to purchase a Public Liability Insurance with sum insured RM one (1) million, and to include Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhdas the party to be insured. A copy of the cover note is required to be submitted with the application form for processing purposes.
    7. Power plug is limited. Additional charges will be charged for each power plug required.
    8. Installation and dismantling time are during engineering hours between 12.00am – 4.00am.
    9. Kindly provide your company’s SSM Certificate and Personal Identification for Individuals.
    10. MRT Corp will issue two (2) copies of Letter of Acceptance (LOA) upon reviewing the application.
    11. Upon receiving the LOA, the Licensee must sign both copies and return one (1) copy of the LOA back to MRT Corp with a Cover Letter for Invoicing.
    12. Upon issuance of the Invoice and once the payment has been processed, MRT Corp will issue the Work Permit for the event.
    13. Client to obtain the relevant licenses or permit from the local authorities and the MACP license for any usage of music.
What is the proposed time to commence the activity in the MRT station?
  1. MRT operation hours is 6.00 am until 11.59pm.
  2. Activities can be held within the operation hours. However, the recommended time will be 8.00am – 8.00pm.
  3. For filming and photography activities the allowable timing is during non-peak hours between 10.00am – 12.00am, 2.30pm – 4.30pm and 8.00pm – 11.00pm
What are the details to be submitted for application?
  1. Proposed activity including Purpose and objective of the activity
  2. The proposed location i.e. station and train (including details of the specific areas)
  3. Proposed date and time
  4. Proposed duration including setting up / installation and dismantling days required.
  5. Proposed design or layout of the booth and kiosks and including materials used for the proposed booth or kiosk.
  6. List of equipment that will be brought in to the station example sound system, lighting, etc.
  7. Storyboard for filming and photography activity.
  8. Information of the personnel, crew involved (inclusive of identification number and contact number).
  9. Usage of power plugs and to provide the list of power usage / consumption for each proposed equipment
  10. Public Liability Insurance with sum insured of RM 1 million and to include Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd as the party to be insured. Applicant to apply the insurance from any third-party agent.
