Two MRT Putrajaya Line Feeder Buses were mobilised to transport members of the RC Deaf Missions Malaysia (RCDM) to University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) for their Covid-19 vaccination on 23 July 2021.
This was the first activity of Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd’s (MRT Corp) collaboration with UMMC in its Vaccination Outreach Program. The program is being carried out to support the Government’s National Covid-19 Immunisation Program (PICK).
A total of 24 members of RCDM received their vaccination. Some of them were picked up from their centre in Kelana Jaya and ferried by the MRT feeder buses to a satellite vaccination centre set up at Kompleks Pendidikan Sains dan Kejururawatan in UMMC. Others travelled by themselves to the vaccination centre.
Upon arrival, they were greeted by UMMC Deputy Director (Professional) Puan Chew Yee Yean and MRT Corp Strategic Communication and Stakeholder Relations General Manager Encik Leong Shen-Li.
The vaccination process went smoothly for all the RDCM members and they were brought back to Kelana Jaya on the same buses.
MRT Corp hopes that through its collaboration with UMMC in its Vaccination Outreach Program, more people will be able to be vaccinated so that the country can return to normalcy as soon as possible.
