THE new Chief Secretary to the Government, Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Bakar made a visit to the sites of the MRT Bandar Malaysia stations on 15 October 2018.
The visit was part of his progress review of mega projects in Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Shahril Mokhtar was on hand to welcome Datuk Seri Dr Ismail and his entourage which include officers from his office, Economic Planning Unit, Implementation and Coordination Unit, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Transport.
Upon arrival, MRT Corp Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya Line Project Director, Dato’ Amiruddin Ma’aris gave a short introduction on the agenda of the visit.
The tour of the sites started with Datuk Seri Dr Ismail going to the viewing deck of MRT Bandar Malaysia North Station for a vantage view of the site. Here, he was updated on the project progress by Dato’ Amiruddin.
Datuk Seri Dr Ismail then visited the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Control Centre where he learnt about how the TBMs are controlled and monitored. He took this opportunity to ask more about the tunnelling works activities which were duly answered by MRT Corp as well as MMC-Gamuda KVMRT (T) Sdn Bhd personnel.
The visit ended with a drive around the MRT Bandar Malaysia South Station site for a complete tour of the sites.
