IT was a prestigious night for MRT Corp as they won the Bronze at the Putra Brand Awards 2017 show held at the Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 2 November 2017.
Dato’ Haris Fadzilah Hassan, MRT Corp Director of Commercial and Land Management accepted the award on behalf of the company which won in the Transportation, Travel and Tourism category.
The award show started off with an opening address by President of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) Mr Andrew Lee which was followed by presentation of mementos to the sponsors of the show.
Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Chief Executive Officer Ir Dr Mohd Shahreen Zainooreen Madros then gave a speech before inviting the guests to a sumptuous dinner which was followed by the presentation of the awards.
Launched in 2010, The Putra Brand Awards is an initiative by 4As to recognise local and international brands.
It is endorsed by MATRADE and supported by the Branding Association of Malaysia (BAM), the Malaysian Advertisers Association (MAA), and the Media Specialists Association (MSA).
Utilising a robust consumer research methodology, a total of 6000 Malaysian consumers were engaged through digital platforms to determine Malaysia’s favourite brands within multiple categories.
The questionnaire explored the preference in the brands’ performance based on four factors; people’s impression of the brand, people’s intent to purchase products of the brand, people’s forced-choice brands and brands people would recommend to friends.
In essence, this covered brand Relevance, consumer Confidence, brand Differentiation and brand Growth.
There were 24 categories ranging from apparel, communication devices to property development surveyed with each category being awarded a Gold, Silver and Bronze.
