IN conjunction with a knowledge-sharing session between the Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) and the Delivery Unit from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) hosted these delegates to the MRT Project on 18 April 2017.
The seven delegates that comprised of individuals from the Delivery Unit from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Directors from both Middle East and Malaysia were met with our SBK Line Project Director Mr Marcus Karakashian at the MRT Operations Control Centre (OCC) Administration building.
Here, they then proceeded with a tour to the OCC. Marcus explained to the delegates about the roles that MRT Corp and Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd will play respectively with regard to the SBK Line.
The MRT train depot is the largest in South East Asia and facilities such as the rolling stock stabling yard was pointed out to the delegates.
They then boarded the MRT feeder bus from the OCC and headed to the MRT Sungai Buloh Station. Upon reaching the station, Marcus highlighted to the delegates about the integration that the MRT has with the KTM service. A common concourse had been built for seamless and easy travel between the two services.
The visit ended with a train ride to the Semantan Station and the delegates maximised the opportunity to learn more about the project.
